First Sundays

One thing (of the many) that I love about Paris is that you can eventually do most things for free. Most museums have a free day and the major attractions are free the first Sunday of the month. I went to the Arc de Triomphe one of those days around dusk and just took in the view. Even though there were hundreds of people, the experience was peaceful and breathtaking.

GRAY HAIR

I am sure that you cannot see it but it is there. Happy 26th Birthday old lady :) I like to think of it as a sign of maturity, thank you very much.

MY FAMILY!

I think one of the days that I was happiest in France was when my mom told me that she, my dad and my brother Trevor were coming to visit! They came for 10 days and I got to play full on tour guide. We did a lot of things, ate a lot of food and enjoyed each other's company.
One things that we went to see that I had not seen before was St Chapelle. It is a chapel with the most amazing stained glass windows. Our necks were pretty sore at the end from staring.

We also did the famous boat tour. Every tourist has to do it.

And of course we went to Fontainbleau. The redhead in the bunch is my aunt who let us all stay at her apartment. Thanks Jen! My little apartment would have been busting at the seams.

My parents brought another camera for me when they came! Thanks mom and dad! They also took a lot of pictures that I will have to sort through and post later.

Grandma in Paris

At the beginning of November my grandma Adre came to Paris to visit Jenny (my aunt the diplomate) and to visit Holland/home. It was great timing because I had a school holiday and so I got to hang out with her! We did all the fun things.
Here she is at the Louvre.

We got to take a great trip up north to Normandy. We went to Bayeux, Mont St Michel and the Normandy beaches. (This is were the pictures are lacking. My camera was stolen shortly after the trip.)
Here are Jenny and I at one of the beaches.

Another place that she and I went to was Fontainbleau. I lived here my first year in France. It was so fun to go again and the weather was fine for a day outside in the gardens.

It was so fun to have her there and I didn't want her to leave at the end!

I love you big G of G&g.

EU President

In the European Union the presidency switches every six months. From July to December 2008 the President was France. They "celebrated" in many ways. One was having the Eiffel Tower be blue instead of its normal white. It seems that it would just be something cool to see but it really was beautiful. It is made to look like the EU flag.

Cousins in Paris

After Colombia I went straight to Paris. My cousin Kacey was studying in Barcelona and came with some of her friends to Paris for a weekend. It was my first chance to be a tour guide and I loved it.

Here we are at the Arc de Triomphe.

Here are the girls with my friend Mariana at the best crêpe shop in Paris. I wish they could have stayed longer.

Sorry

I realize how far behind I am in my blogging. Really am very sorry but I made goals too big for one little blog. So now I will be making up for lost time but really only the highlights... Thank you for your patience.
